Low impact..but will it replace an elliptical?, July 27, 2011 By This review is from: Gazelle Freestyle Trainer W/ Thumbpulse (Misc.) There is no doubt that many people enjoy (enjoy?) doing their aerobics on low or no-impact equipment. If you are heavy or injured, yet you want to move, move, move, these machines are a Godsend.
The most popular machine around today is the elliptical trainer, a sort of standing bicycle affair that mimics the motion of running while using counterweighting to support your bodyweight and take away the impact of gravity on your joints. Remember the long, hostile lines at the stairclimbers in the 90's? The ellipticals now have the long lines at the gym.
So, you want to get exercise, and you don't want to shell out the grand or so that a GOOD elliptical can cost, and by the way, a mediocre one is not fun to use despite the cost saving. So here is the Gazelle, a sort of glider. Can it work?

Great Item, May 31, 2011 Amazon Verified Purchase This review is from: Gazelle Freestyle Trainer W/ Thumbpulse (Misc.) This item was purchased for my wife since she needed a low impact machine.The item arrived on time and in good condition. It wa easy to assemble. The workout video that came with it helped her set a goal. She works out on it twcie a day and really likes it. This isn't like buying a treadmill or other large machine. It fits great in her sewing room so she can work out and go straight to quilting. She is really sticking to it.
